About us

In Alaska on our two-week trip to collect tadpoles for Mike's research

Mike and I met in the summer of 2010 playing pick-up soccer in Salt Lake City. We started dating two years later, in the spring of 2012. Shortly after we began dating, we both moved to Washington to pursue new directions in our careers. Mike was located in Pullman, WA for 2 years finishing his master's degree in zoology while I was in Seattle working in the orthopedic research department at the University of Washington hospital.

We've both been wanting to do a big thru-hike for a few years but never could find the right time or the right partner to hike with. Luckily, our schedules aligned very well for us to both be able to take off this summer and travel. We've been planning our PCT hike for the past two years and it feels surreal that it's finally here.

We aren't sure where we'll end up after the trail. We're expecting to finish hiking at the end of September and begin to look for jobs after that but we're trying to keep our options open.
